2. General Information on Data Processing
We generally process our users' personal data only to the extent necessary to provide a functioning website as well as our content and services. Personal data is regularly processed only with the user's consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or insofar as processing is necessary to safeguard legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
3. Hosting and Server Log Files
This website is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). The associated database is currently operated, on a transitional basis, by another hosting provider in Germany. Data processing agreements pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR are in place with both providers.
With every access to our website, the hosting provider automatically collects so-called server log files transmitted by your browser. These include:
IP address, date and time of the request, browser type and version, operating system used, and the page accessed. This data cannot be attributed to specific individuals and is evaluated solely to ensure trouble-free operation and to improve our offering (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Cookies
Our website uses only technically necessary cookies required for the operation of the site. Consent is not required for this under § 25(2) TTDSG. We use: ee-musix_session (session cookie, stores your login status, deleted when the browser is closed or the session expires), XSRF-TOKEN (protects against cross-site request forgery attacks), and locale (stores your selected language, valid for 400 days).
No cookies are used for advertising or analytics purposes, and no third-party cookies (e.g., Google) are used.
5. Registration and User Account
During registration, we collect your name, email address, and a password of your choice (stored encrypted). This data is required to provide the user account (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
In your profile, you can voluntarily add further information (e.g., address, phone number, date of birth, place of residence, website). This information is optional and is only processed if you enter it yourself. You can control the visibility of your profile yourself via the privacy settings.
6. Content You Upload
Music tracks, videos, images, and posts that you publish via ee-musix are stored on our servers and, depending on the visibility setting you choose, made accessible to other users or the public. As the uploading party, you are responsible for the legality of the content you upload (in particular copyright and personal rights); please also see our Community Guidelines.
Video and audio files are automatically converted server-side into a playback format after upload.
7. Messaging Feature
You can communicate with other users via the internal messaging feature. The content of your messages is stored in our database for the purpose of providing this feature and is only visible to the users involved in the respective conversation.
8. Live Streaming
ee-musix offers a live-streaming feature. To use it as a broadcaster, the application accesses your device's camera and microphone with your explicit permission; without this permission, starting a stream is not possible. Transmission technically takes place via WebRTC; to establish the connection, your IP address is processed, if necessary via a TURN relay server operated by us, when a direct connection is not possible. Streams themselves are not recorded or permanently stored.
9. Sending of Emails
For sending system emails (e.g., registration confirmation, notifications), we use an email delivery service provided by our hosting partner (all-inkl, Germany) as a data processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
10. Retention Period
We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention periods. After deletion of your user account, your data will be deleted, provided no statutory retention obligations apply.
11. Your Rights
You have the following rights: access to the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR), and objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR).

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g., the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information responsible for Rhineland-Palatinate.
