Become Part of a Community
ee-musix is a place for music – ad-free, free of charge, with no algorithm deciding what you get to see. No pre-roll, no mid-roll, no auto-generated suggestions. Just the music of the people who make up this community.
Be There Live.
The heart of ee-musix is live streaming: you go live directly through your own webcam and microphone – no studio, no extra software needed. Announce your performance in advance with a fixed start time; a countdown shows you and your viewers when it's about to begin. While you play, other members watch you live, whether from their phone on the train or their computer at home. This creates real closeness between you and your audience, with no recording running in the background.
Your Music, Your Stage.
Upload music tracks and videos and present them with your own player and cover art in your albums – from a single song to a full collection. ee-musix automatically converts your files into the right formats, no matter what you recorded with. Image slideshows accompany your audio tracks, and you can even embed tracks on your own website, just like on a video platform – just without the ads.
Your Data Stays Here.
ee-musix is hosted entirely in Germany, in compliance with GDPR. No tracking takes place – no Google services, no analytics cookies, no sharing of your data with third parties for advertising purposes. You can find the details in our Privacy Policy.
Who It's For.
ee-musix is for musicians working outside the mainstream – from hobbyists to semi-professionals. It's equally for anyone who wants to discover exactly that kind of music: the public areas (Music, Dates, Live) are accessible even without an account.
Who's Behind It.
ee-musix is operated by frey | interaktive medien (see Imprint) – out of the conviction that music deserves a place of its own, away from advertising and algorithms.
Origin Story.
ee-musix began in 2015 as a pure TYPO3 implementation at frey | interaktive medien – originally an internal testbed for new techniques. The ideas that emerged from it gradually grew into a platform of its own.
